Crowded House was an Australian rock band formed 1985 in Melbourne by New Zealander Neil Finn and Australians Paul Hester and Nick Seymour. Later band members included Neil's brother, Tim Finn, and Americans Mark Hart and Matt Sherrod. Neil and Tim Finn were formerly in the groundbreaking NZ band Split Enz. Their first album Crowded House was released in '86 and with the hit "Don't Dream it's Over" achieved good commercial success in Australasia and the USA. Their next three albums Temple of Low Men, Woodface and Together Alone, were all superb releases and gave the band worldwide recognition and commercial success. The band released two more studio albums and two superb live albums before breaking up in 1996. Tim Finn went on to record several solo albums and in 2018 joined Fleetwood Mac.
